Cell Church Ministry Overview

(Acts 2:42-47; Eph. 4:11-16; James 5:13-19; John 13:34-35; Hebrews 10:23-25)

What is a Cell Church?

The Cell Church is A Church Based on Small Group Fellowships in which the focus is the Ministry within these groups. It is a Doctrinally Sound, Biblically Based, Evangelical Christian Movement. Many have called this a "Relationally Based" Church Movement. Its Structure is based upon the Biblical Mandates of the "One Anothers" , the First Century Church Structure of meeting from House to House and the Underground Church Movements through the Centuries. With the Cell Church, there is only one group or ministry you can join - The Cell Group ( a Home Fellowship). Within the Cell Group - different ministry activities spring forth from within. All of the Network of Cell Groups are sister Groups in unity forming One Ministry (i.e. The Cell Church). The focal point of ministry is from within the Cell Groups. The focus is on What Jesus Commanded concerning Loving One Another and in making Disciples. There is mutual Edification and interactive Equipping for Hands-on Body-Life Ministry.

With the Normal Format and Structure of a Typical Church Service - such Equipping, Encouraging, and Interaction with One Another cannot occur. And there are many people of the congregation that are so busy with Church related functions that Doing the "One Anothers" and Seeking to Save the Lost is lost in the shuffle. The rest who are not really involved in anything do not get involved because of one reason or another (in some cases many of the jobs are filled). If a typical Church filled all the Sunday School Teacher positions and all the other positions with volunteers from the Church congregation it would still leave between 60% to 70% of the congregation with nothing to do except spectate at the various meetings. The Typical Church Offers Programs to recruit people to. Not so with the Cell Church.

As the Cell Groups Grow and Multiply, it will become necessary to have all the Network of Cells to meet together in One Large Meeting :  a CELEBRATION SERVICE. (Once a Week, Twice a Month [such as on the 1st and 3rd Sundays], or Once a Month) This is a time to Re-instill Unity of Vision, Purpose, and Commission and to Especially Worship the True and Living God who is Blessed Forever. A time to hear testimonies of what God is doing in the midst of the various Cell Groups. A time for some intense and equipping oriented Bible Teaching. A time for Contemporary, Awe Inspiring and Exhilarating Worship of the Creator of the Universe.

Some may think that this is just a Normally Structured Worship Service of a Normally Structured Church. But it is not. The focus of all that goes on at these meetings is to Strengthen the Cell Groups and Their Participants. It helps to keep all the Cell Groups in Unity and in Focus - TOGETHER.

Benefits of Being a Part of a Cell Church

1) With this simple structure, the Focus on the Commands and Commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can be carried out with least amount of distractions. Obedience and Love Oriented Discipleship is the Main Focus in the Cell.

    a) All of the "One-Another" commands, such as Love one another, care for one another, esteem each other more highly than yourself, pray for one another, encourage one another, submit to one another in the Fear of Christ, build up one another, etc., can be carried out most effectively in a small group setting of 15 or less.

    b) Seeking to Save the Lost - not all by yourself - but with your small group.

2) The Cell Group offers encouraging and accountable relationships that will help each person grow in their relationship with our Heavenly Father and with One Another. We each need encouragement and an atmosphere where the Focus is to stay on TRACK in our growth in our Fellowship - Relationship with our Heavenly Father. We, also, need accountability from like-minded brothers and sisters in the Lord to help us keep on TRACK in OBEDIENCE to the Lord. From a ministry standpoint - that will involve 100% of the people and it aligns itself up with 100% of what the Lord commanded us to do in Loving One Another as He first Loved us. Offering God’s Love that flows from One Another to One Another resulting in mutual Edification.

3) The Cell Church focuses on helping all members to become equipped, functioning, and participating MINISTERS* with the Body of Christ.. We believe that every Born-Again Christian should utilize his/her gifts, talents, and abilities within the Body of Christ to Build-up, Encourage, and Strengthen his/her fellow brethren in their relationship with God and through the Body of Christ to reach out to a Lost and Hurting World. We do not believe that a Born-Again Christian should just be a passive observer or spectator but an involved participant in the Ongoing Ministry of the Body of Christ within the context of the relationships of one’s Cell Group. (Matt. 20:20-23; Eph. 4:11-16; John 13:34,35; Gal. 5:13 & 6:9,10; 1 Peter 4:7-11)
*(Definition of "minister" - one who administrates something; In the case of our context - One who administrates the Love of Jesus according the personality of the person, and according to the gifts, abilities, and talents that God has given to that person. Also, it does not mean necessarily that it is a person who is in full-time Vocational Ministry of some sort - such as a Full-time Senior Pastor of a Church. Although by our definition He too is a minister.)

4) The Cell group offers the setting and atmosphere for Relationships to Grow

    a) with God

    b) with Fellow Believers

    c) with Unbelievers seeking Answers

5) The Cells offer an opportunity to Realize one’s full potential as a Redeemed Human Being this side of Eternity. In walking in Obedience to the Lord in the Context of intimate Fellowship with Fellow Believers in an Encouraging and Accountable Setting - the possibilities for Growth is limitless (this side of Eternity). The ultimate potential Jesus has set as our Goal is Wise & Humble Servanthood. The better we become at that - the more likely we will Hear Jesus Say on that Last DAY :  "Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant, Enter into the Joy of Your Master !".
